Tennyson. The sh*t.
Luke and Tess are at it again (mainly Luke as we now learn). I thought I might be one of the few listening to the duo, but I saw they premiered this one on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 Show. Over 23,000 hits in just one day, it's no doubt they have made it far.
I've mentioned kitty cats, girls, horns, and many other noises Tennyson uses that I've forgotten here. Some call it elevator music, and I call it innovation. The way the music comes together is almost surprising as the samples used couldn't be further from similar. In "All Yours" we center around an assortment of bells, a morning alarm, and even a baby's sneeze towards the end of it. Don't ask why, don't ask how, just listen and laugh as it is almost comical how well they morph simple noises into music.
Tennyson is spreading wide, and I believe the style of music (electronic jazz) is going to pick up in the coming few years. Yes, they are ahead of their time, but I hope they stick around to be the face of the genre. Always a pleasure listening, never too overwhelming, and completely authentic.
