Electronic duo Statik Link bring a diverse approach to the bass music genre. The two intertwine trap and future bass stylings to create a sound that is uniquely their own. In their latest release “Black Lotus,” booming bass underscores rolling snares and massive horns that represent that which electronic trap was founded on. Their melody is a mix of vocal samples and high pitched treble arpeggios spaced out to give them this air of mystery and menace. This release creates the feeling of our antagonist running through a dark alley prepared to do battle, or a sly alley cat on the prowl for it’s next meal.
