Four months ago LA based singer/songwriter BISHOP had Spotify ablaze with her smash hit "Wild Horses." The song was a heavy hitting dark pop tune filled with thumping bass and gripping vocals. Like wildfire it quickly climbed the viral tracks chart and amassed play after play. With nothing but a cassette floating around LA scenesters Instagram feeds people were hooked and fiending for more. She heard their cries and recently released her second track "River" which flexed her immense musicianship and diversity. The song is an explosive mixture of gospel, rock, and pop. One can't help but to compare the track to Delta Rae's gripping song "Bottom of the River." (If you haven't seen the video yet, play it immediately and then come back here.) Not only do they share a similar name but the emotion and style are parallel yet wildly different. BISHOP showcases just how captivating her voice is and her ability to combine music styles in a form so artful and expressive. If one thing is true it's that we are more than willing to wash away our sins in the river waters she wades.
