Finding yourself isn’t always a technicolored ayahuasca trip through India where you have a self-fulfilling revelation as the cosmos align and the essence of your being is actualized. Self-discovery can be a brutal battle of self-doubt, internal warfare, and the ever conflicting conscious. In Echos latest song “Silhouettes,” she presents this struggle with a dramatic telling of battles with self and the voices in her head. Cinematic chords drone under her haunting voice as she reflects on the trying journey. As the verse climaxes it erupts into a swarm of pounding bass, vocal chops, and high pitched tube bells that resemble the coming of a train in high velocity and ferocious speed. It is a beautifully orchestrated depiction of her inner struggle, ending on a high note to signify the coming to terms and optimistic foresight.
