Junior Boys – the duo made up of Jeremy Greenspan and Matt Didemus – are back, plotting a tour in support of forthcoming album Big Black Coat, their first since 2011's It's All True. While in the past they've released through Domino, the new album comes via City Slang, and features singles "Big Black Coat" and "Over It." Now the duo has enlisted Hyperdub veteran Ikonika for a stellar remix of "Over It."

Jeremy Greenspan is no stranger to Hyperdub; he contributed significantly to the writing, production, and mixing of Jessy Lanza's album Pull My Hair Back. This time around, Ikonika brings a completely different mood with her "Over It" remix, a club-ready slow jam made from the original's subdued synth pop. Greenspan's intoxicating vocals are left untouched, but their new environment makes it feel like they're in a different emotional context. Big Black Coat drops February 5, check out the tracklist and tour dates (w/ Jessy Lanza) below.

I received my degree in English from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, and Virginia is still home. Apart from my yearly pilgrimage to Moogfest and occasional shows in DC, Detroit, and New York, I like to stick to the fringes, with an eye always open toward music that is forward-thinking and unique, whatever the genre.
