Fresh off his collaboration with fellow French Express brother Jonas Rathsman, Australia’s Isaac Tichauer is back with a new solo single called “Street Lessons.” Surely giving us some lessons in what he does best, Tichauer constructs a track that drifts just past the 7-minute mark with all its subtleties and nuances. That signature soulful flair that graced past singles and remixes isn’t left out, but “Street Lessons” definitely picked up a bit of influence from Jonas Rathsman and his deep, moody musical attitude.
Much like a time warp, there’s so much to keep the mind busy that the length of the track is almost forgotten. Although, it's never too much. "Street Lessons" actually sounds quite minimal overall. Crisp beats and the grime-laden, tech house bassline stand out, but the juxtaposition of lush synths and shots against everything is what makes for such an interesting composition. LOFT Records will be releasing the Street Lessons EP on January 25th—until then, listen below.
