If there’s anything that 2014-2015 have proven about music consumers’ tastes, it’s that the edgy, passionate vocalist is really en vogue. That trend may be in turn because of the level and volume of talent we’ve seen from artists like Lorde, Anne Marie, and Banks. To celebrate the new year, Berlin’s Daniele di Martino has put a new spin on one of Banks’s breakout hits from her 2014 album Goddess, entitled “Warm Water.”
Di Martino’s take on “Warm Water” is laid back, with enough groove to elicit relaxation and a bug for the weekend all at the same time. He’s pulled out a new kind of passion from Banks’s vocals with an uplifting bassline and deep house intent, making “Warm Water” feel totally new again.
