There are just some duos that come together so well that everything they produce is gold, and Swiss duo Ralph and Daniel of Fat Sushi are two such producers. No strangers to the deep house scene, they’ve gotten support from many heavy hitters, not the least is Coyu, head of the venerated Spanish imprint Suara. After their massive Warehouse EP this past January on Suara, Fat Sushi is back this week on the label with another fantastic two-track EP, Hana.
Fat Sushi sets the tone of the title track “Hana,” with a bouncy beat and some crisp percussion. Heady synth melodies provide the groundwork for soaring melodic lines that will keep you enthralled all night. The tone of “Paia” is set with some understated piano chords and a bouncy percussion. Weighted below by some heavy bass, Daniel and Ralph expertly weave in the synth melody, which flies above the rest of the track. This all combines to create quite the beautiful track.
