This year saw the launch of the Beats 1 radio station, which has been a HUGE hit since it's inception months ago. A diverse array of shows from the likes of Drake's OVO Sound, UK Grime emcee Stormzy, and Australian tastemaker Zane Lowe have seen the station push its way to the forefront of the modern music media, with millions of listeners every week. It's a hotbed of new talent and new music, and New Yorker Ebro is one of the more prominent figures at the station, who is always premiering new music. One such track he released onto the world came from Cali native Anderson Paak, and his new joint "Room In Here".
With his album Malibu set to drop in mid-January, the rap-come-R&B star has released his latest single, backed by Sonyae Elise & Compton's hero The Game. "Room In Here" features a laid back beat, with jazzy piano chords overlaying a banging drum pattern that touches on some boom-bap like influences. Anderson's vocal performance is equally as impressive, with his soothing tones cutting through the mix so swiftly, giving a real sunny vibe to the track. Sonyae Elise soulfully croons her way into our eardrums at the end, and The Game comes through with a typically fire verse, but the real star of the track is Anderson, who's destined for big things if he can keep up this level of musicianship.
