Sergio and Darkside's Dave Harrington rework ARMS' "Earthquake Weather" [Premiere]

Nicolas Jaar and Dave Harrington have put their Darkside project on the back burner for now, giving both members ample time to pursue other projects.  Jaar's been keeping busy with an experimental film soundtrack and the Nymphs series of singles, while Harrington has been focused on remixes, reworking The Antlers, HOWLING, and A Place to Bury Strangers recently.  Now he's teamed up with Sergio of Benoit & Sergio to remix ARMS, a band that Harrington was once a member of.

Dave and Sergio chose ARMS' "Earthquake Weather," released back in 2013.  Lead vocalist Todd Goldstein sounds more like Avey Tare than Nicolas Jaar, but Harrington's signature blues guitar experimentation still feels right at home here.  ARMS will have a new album, Patterns, dropping early next year on Paper Garden Records.  Dave Harrington's next move is the second annual NYC Xmas spectacular on December 13 at Le Poisson Rouge.  Todd Goldstein will be in Dave's house band.

I received my degree in English from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, and Virginia is still home. Apart from my yearly pilgrimage to Moogfest and occasional shows in DC, Detroit, and New York, I like to stick to the fringes, with an eye always open toward music that is forward-thinking and unique, whatever the genre.
