British indie rock ensemble, The Kooks, are back and they're changing things up with "Creatures of Habit." Their latest single was produced by Isom Innis of Foster The People fame. Innis' influence is clearly evident on "Creatures of Habit." The synth patches blended with psychedelic tones makes for a different sound then we are accustomed to hearing from The Kooks. There is also a disco laced bass line, which conjures up memories of the days when John Travolta tore up the dance floor in bell bottoms.
The Kooks new experimental sound should be refreshing to most. Those looking for the acoustic influenced sound from The Kooks of the past, won't find it here. If you're in the United Kingdom, catch the Kooks on their multi-venue tour, which will be kicking into high gear this December.
