Just now, Swedish superstar DJ and producer Steve Angello has returned with a new remix, further pursuing a new musical direction in his career. Throughout his heightened solo career over the past two years, we have seen Angello focus on big room productions and supporting releases on his Size Records, as well as focusing on the development of his more underground X label. We know of his interest in various electronica from his various alter egos, and with his more recent work, including a remix of Jean-Michel Jarre's "Glory," we have seen him pursue this different, rock-influenced electronic sound.
This time, he has partnered up with fellow Swedish producer and closely associated act AN21. AN21 is most well known for his work with Max Vangeli, but has broken out lately to partner with other artists on new releases. While his latest work was big room electro (a track with Sebjak entitled "Everything,") we see him too moving into a new exciting direction with this collaboration with Angello.
Steve Angello and AN21 have taken on a fierce vocalist in the Norwegian pop scene, a frequent electronic collaborator Susanne Sundfør, to remix her track "Kamikaze" off of her latest album Ten Love Songs. Rock influenced with gritty, at times retro French electro-sounding synths, the guys have successfully created big energy off of a lower impact track. Check it out below.
