NYC based-duo Soda Shop is a group rooted in nostalgic minimalism and brooding simplicity. Striped down surf rock is brought to life with vibrant clean guitar tonalities, driving bass melodies and an easily groovable four-to-the-floor drum pattern. Soda Shop is releasing their self-title debut album on September 4th via Velvet Blue Music and just recently debuted the record’s first single, “Keep Swimming.” It is a bubbly up-tempo song with sweeping oh and ahs perfectly carried by vocalist Maria Usbeck. Following the release of this track, electronic producer Ian Catt took the upbeat original and stripped it down to a draw out melodic vibe that creates an ethereal atmosphere, calm as the coming of tides. It is a sound that would perfectly score the intro to a indie TV series or could fit perfectly in a Teen Daze or Washed Out set. Listen to both the original tracks and remix and be sure to grab the album when it is released September 4th.
