‘I Don’t Know Yet’ but I think Anik Khan is about to take off [Download]

Recently, EARMILK covered Bangladeshi rapper Anik Khan and his track "The Knowing." In the last few weeks, the Queens native has been building up anticipation for his debut project, I Don't Know Yet, by dropping the aforementioned single as well as the video for the second single off the project, "Shadows." Today, just as anticipation was beginning to boil over for the release, Khan dropped I Don't Know Yet, a project that defines both Khan as a person, and as an artist.

Executively produced by Khan, the EP has a unique South-Asian flair to its hip-hop production as many of the tracks on the project contain samples of instruments native to the Sub-Asia region. Take one of the EP's standout track, "Mantra," which features a haunting melody that takes cues from melodies indigenous to South-Asia. Tracks like "Mantra" are contrasted by boom-bap and sample-heavy tracks like "Gina Marie" and "Saul Bellow." Additionally, Khan flexes his vocal chords on the track "Nomad Man," a standout track on the record that's video was paired with the release of the project.

Overall, I Don't Know Yet, is a phenomenal introductory project. One listen through the entire project, and the listener will have a strong understanding of who Khan is and the duality of his existence in America.
