Los Angeles newcomer Jon Weinman, known as Alge (pronounced 'algae'), expresses his love and understanding for both hip hop and folk in his easy-going music. Having only released four previous tracks, it is clear that Jon is still exploring the boundaries of his sound, which highlights his production ability, thanks to NYU's Clive Davis Program for Recorded Music, and rolling RnB inspired vocals.
In taking a next step, we present "The Comedown", a song that showcases Jon's understanding that less is more and creating an atmosphere behind a song can really draw out emotion. Mellow, smooth and balanced throughout, "The Comedown" places Alge and Jon on a platter of shifting electronica that pulls on downtempo and tropical elements for support. As his sound is continuing to evolve, Jon seems to have found a middle ground with "The Comedown" where he can truly flourish.
