When k-os drops a new track, I immediately drop whatever I'm doing in order to give my full attention to his music. Growing up, the Toronto based talent exposed me to the world of Canadian hip hop; for that, I am forever thankful. Between bouts of bumping Joyful Rebellion and watching episodes of Degrassi—every Canadian kid remembers where they were when Jimmy got murked by Rick—my after schools were complete. While the previous two tracks he's put out, "WiLD4TheNight" and "Turn Me Loose," were cool, "Crucify", k's latest effort, makes the backpacker in me yearn for more. Is it the the dusty, laid back Ella Fitzgerald-borrowed beat? k-os' sublime flow? The sample-heavy hook? Whether you're a die hard fan or this is your first time checking him out, know that he hasn't lost a step .

Can't Fly Without Gravity, k-os' next album, drops on August 28th on Dine Alone Records; if "Crucify" is a taste of what's to come, I think it's safe to say we've got fantastic project coming our way next month.
