New York's Shadow Child's home city might be a little deceiving, as the quality and innovative characteristics of his unique, underground yet melodically infectious house music is the caliber of that which we've been consistently come out of the UK. So it makes sense, then, that he and Manchester's Ben Pearce would get together to make some music.
We recently loved Shadow Child's execution of his latest remix, as well as his chart topping collaborations with Doorly and Hot Natured. Pearce, on the other hand, completely rocked the deep house scene with his 2012 (possibly track of the year) "What I Might Do." This week they've teamed up on the ever impressive "Nothing Ever Hurts You." An atmospheric deep house stunner, the radio edit posted on SoundCloud this week revealed beachy elements peaking through the moody haze, making the the track one that feels perfect for a sunrise, sunset, or after hours set. Tying the whole thing together are Laurel's ethereal vocals, which are almost haunting, but in a good way.
