My favorite way to listen to and enjoy music is while cruisin' around LA. First, music is necessary to make traffic here bearable, but more importantly, it helps maintain your overall sanity in this hedonistic city and lifestyle. People are constantly chasing one thing after another (not to knock down ambition), and driving might just be the break in between life's show times. Nevertheless, wherever you may be, having that ride to let your mind wander to good rhythms is just salutary for the soul.
Enter, A.CHAL, the Peruvian, LA-based artist, to come out with this summer's cruisin anthem: "Round Whippin." This song, produced by 11LIT3S, is lifted off his forthcoming Gazi EP, and is about, "moving forward in confidence, no matter how dark the lane gets" (via The FADER).
A.CHAL is an artist that previously had one single released, "Gazi" (listen below), but already had people, not so quietly, chattering about. "Gazi" is an infectious, laid-back tune that should be right up there with "White Iverson" at every sesh and party. Stylistically, "Round Whippin" follows along the hazy, brooding, pop/r&b signature in "Gazi," and we absolutely can't wait to hear more from this exciting new talent.
