If you haven’t heard of Stella, it’s time to acquaint yourself with her rich and velvety vocals. Earlier this year the Greek singer/songwriter released her debut full length which showed off a variety of influences and comparisons. Tracks range from groovy synth pop, to more of a raw pop rock, but it’s all decidedly 80s. Stella’s presence reminds me of Annie Lennox or Elly Jackson (La Roux), minus the red hair. There’s a mysterious, looming quality about her music and the lower range and vocal tone can’t help but intrigue. Stella just released a video for “Picking Words” and it sets the perfect visuals to her sound. Check it out below, and find her debut album on Bandcamp.
