Around 2am EST last Thursday morning, the internet was in a blogging blitz trying to be the first to help spread Flume's "Some Minds," like wild fire. It was his first original since his deluxe edition was released over a year ago and was packaged perfectly with smooth vocals and production from Miike Snow frontman Andrew Wyatt. Inevitable, the remixes weren't far to follow, as with any track that has the midas touch, it makes it prime for remixing. Of the few that have been released, Atlanta based producer Pink Slip takes the cake, not trying to do too much with the track, while still adding his own personality. The vocals are pitched up, tempo raised, and bouncy bass hits help the verses to shimmer like light reflecting off the coming tides. His chorus is the true winner here, mixing the glitchy breakdown at the end of the original that had us all collectively losing our shit, with the droning ooh's and aah's Andrew emits in the song. It is a lively bouncy rendition of track that will be on repeat and at the top of all summer playlists this year. Our hats are off to you Pink Slip, all ownership papers are yours.
