Nashville-based musician Timbre Cierpke, or best known by Timbre, is a savant of music, straddling the lines of contemporary and modern productions. Growing up she was surrounded by a musical family, her mother a choral director, her father a cellist, professor of music, and orchestral conductor. Exposed to so many diverse forms of music, she began to learn various instruments and was proficient in the harp by the age of 12. As far as modern music, she was featured on Jack White's latest album Lazaretto, and has collaborated with heavier acts like mewithoutYou and O'Brother. This convergence of classical and modern music has fused together to give a unique sound, blending harp with intricately crafted melodies, vibrant and gritty at the same time.

Her latest single, "Song of the Sun," is a gorgeous tapestry of audible poetry. It is layered and looped as it's melodies and lyrics show the death and regeneration of nature, plants and beings sprouting up in succession, necks outstretched toward the coming sun. The song builds and grows just as the ebb and flow of nature. It is a gorgeous representation of light and life and will leave you feeling revitalized. When asked about Song of the Sun, this is what Timbre had to say, "“Song of the Sun is one of my favorite songs I've ever written, very joyful and energetic. Its written from the perspective of the sun, singing over nature at the end of winter, calling it back to life. It builds and builds as everything and everyone responds in their own voice, adding layers and layers of melodies. " Song of the Sun is off her most recent album Sun & Moon, which you can purchase here.  Watch the beautiful video shot for this song below!
