EPISODE doesn't give a "Blip"

One of the hottest alt-rock bands dominating underground circles in Los Angeles is surprisingly a New York-based band that goes under the moniker of EPISODE. Last year, EARMILK featured two of the band’s standout tracks “Hold On” and “Dust,” which garnered praise from Billboard and The Fader. Since then, EPISODE has been on a creative hiatus as they have been working on honing and developing a more edgy sound for their forthcoming EP, which has yet to have a title or release date. It was not up until recently that the band broke their hiatus by dropping a new banger of a track appropriately titled “Blip,” which got a co-sign from Los Angeles “it” girl Hailey Baldwin.

“Blip” is a raw and honest, rock anthem about existing in a space where one can’t help but feel that no matter how hard one tries their efforts, in the scheme of the universe, are ultimately insignificant. The toplining exhibited on the track, done by EPISODE front man Daniel Lonner, makes for a memorable hook that resonates heavily with the listener. Lonner eloquently delivers a message to the listener by way of the hook of “blip” that we are all just “stardust out in space” trying to be something more, something larger than life, like a “man on the moon”. Additionally, the track features additional production from Post Malone collaborators Rex and Idan, who are a relatively new production duo out of California who have also produced for Wale in the past.
