You know that warm, fuzzy feeling when you stumble upon an artist that makes you reload the track several times?! Those artists that make you listen to them over and over again til' you almost wear them out?! Well that's what happened when I first heard of Dallas native Post Malone. The young Texas born L.A dweller took my breath away, his voice echoing through my head for days, with his single "White Iverson", and it caught the attention of a LOT of other people too. Since then, he's dropped an A$AP Yams tribute in the shape of "Too Young" and headlined his first show in New York, and today we were blessed with another new joint from Malone, with the slowed down banger "Whats Up".

The Texas born crooner carries on his use of using trilled out, slowed down instrumentals, singing with a rappers flow, something that's come to be used a lot in recent times from the likes of PARTYNEXTDOOR and The Weeknd. But this isn't a comparison, Post Malone is in his own lane, using organic instruments such as acoustic guitars (maybe down to his Country roots?) blending into the mix nicely. The beat, produced by long term collaborator FKI & Charlie Handsome, is nice and mellow, yet still has some snap to it, making the perfect faded banger. Malone's lyricism is typical of a lot of other artists, with his heart aching for a long lost love, asking her what's going on, a situation a lot of us can relate to.
