With his debut EP Fine Minds set for release tomorrow, Londoner BILLIONAIRE blends a mix of lo-fi indie with minimalist pop to create his catchy sound. As the alter ego of Gang Of Four's current singer John Sterry, BILLIONAIRE keeps himself behind the curtain. While not much is known about the inspirations behind BILLIONAIRE, John's new EP proves that he has been hard at work.
Built around John's vocal direction, the Fine Minds EP maintains a simplistic structure, tugging the instrumentals in new and exciting ways through each song. Expressing a genuine, almost vulnerable tone in his voice, John hugs the edge around every corner with precise backings accentuating each run. Introducing washed out guitars, dance based drum beats and an echo of electronica, the EP is a light and palatable introduction to an artist who seems to be only just beginning.
