LA-based musician has been a bit quiet this year, but he is one of those whose words are few but mighty. His most recent release was "We Gone," a collaboration with the Colorado/LA based producer Paper Diamond, who started making glitchy fusions of hip-hop, trap, and glitch but is exploring a new style. This track is sexy and glimmers as Shoffy's voice flows like butter melting over pancakes. Following up the release of the collab, Shoffy has taken Kanye West's "Diamonds," and adds his own groovy vibe to it. The bass drips and drops like water melting off of icicles, as driving bass plucks are paired with steel drum runs down the chromatic scale. It's a blend of house, glitch, future funk, but really it is a mix of genres that refuses to be classified by genres. Instead, on hearing this track and his other productions you will immediately know it is a Shoffy production. Feel alive and shimmer like diamonds with this funky reworking of a timeless tune.
