Halifax, Canada's Harley Alexander is formed by Adam Gravelle, Robert Loveless, Peter Sarty, John Lakemonster, Scott Nicks and Harley Alexander himself. Today is a big day for the sixsome, as they are debuting their most recent single "Runnin' Thangz" off of their forthcoming sophomore LP entitled Gold Shirt. The album spans nine tracks in length and will be released independently on cassette tape via Bandcamp on May 28/15.
In the mean time, "Runnin' Thangz" preps our ears for what's to come with funk-filled grooves, spaced-out percussive lines, and melodic guitar plucks. Featuring back-up vocals from Charlotte Day Wilson (of The Wayo) and Brian Askewlt, "Runnin' Thangz" is that kind of psychedelic "dad-rock" that both soothes and ups your mood. This is usually a hard balance for most bands to achieve (especially with such a playful approach), but Harley seems to have it all figured out.
