One of the best things about dance music is its ability to bring forth and showcase new talent. One such group is the Italian based newcomers Babylon Crooks who, with less than 50 followers on SoundCloud, have a lot of room to grow. Next week, they are releasing their debut EP, Perpetuum, out May 11th on Bade Records. The two-track EP seamlessly captures their beautifully unrefined sound and if they keep this up, their following can only continue to grow.

The title track, “Perpetuum,” builds tension right from the onset. A sharp beat and commanding bass stabs anchor the track from below and provide the perfect backdrop to overlay the eerie, oscillating melody. This all comes together to give the track an all encompassing, atmospheric feel.

Babylon Crooks sets the tone of the second track, “Impetum,” with a driving beat and crisp percussion. A rolling bass and arpeggiated lead lend to the raw feel of the EP while ensuring dance floor compatibility.

This is definitely one EP you will not want to miss. Pick up a copy when it drops May 11th on Bade Records.
