UZ x 12th Planet x Stooki Sound equals wildly hypnotic "Trap Shit V21" [Download]

Cryptic trap lord UZ and dubstep pioneer 12th Planet combined forces to blow up festivals and parties everywhere with the free Trap Shit V21 EP, featuring remixes by Stooki Sound, AWE, and OM Unit.

Leading the remixes is Stooki Sound, aka Jelacee and DJ Lukey, who bring their UK grime influences into play. Stooki takes UZ’s signature (high-pitched) bells and chimes and offer instead a slower, grittier, and wildly hypnotic twist. You’re guaranteed to lose yourself in that drop. However, it’s not only the drop that makes this a standout remix, but it’s how they’ve paid attention to the overall re-creation. Stooki gives us prudent changes in tempo, and I especially love how, rather than a typical snare drumroll, they mesmerize us with an eerie piano buildup for the second drop.

Stooki Sound has been running around America and Canada on their Infinity Tour this spring, which is coming to a close tonight in Santa Ana, CA (Buy tickets here). I caught them last weekend in LA alongside Troyboi, and I can say that their set is the turnt night you’ve been waiting for.
