As a taste of the first compilation of On and On Records, 20syl released a collaborative track between himself and Odesza's newest addition to their Foreign Family Collective label, Monsoonsiren. Monsoonsiren's feathery pitch is heavenly and ephemeral, taking us far above the analog and vintage sounds of 20syl. It is rare to find a vocalist whose range goes beyond that of the ground we stand on to the universe above. Together, Monsoonsiren and 20syl create a delicacy for our ears.
French producer 20syl has had a history of rhymes and beatmaking with his band Hocus Pocus and group C2C. Since 2001, On and On Records has released LP records, EPs, and singles from Hocus Pocus and C2C and has moved on to showcase their individual talents. Some of the artists on the roster include Parrad, a percussionist whose powerful surge of beats on "Quatro" provide a mixture of a cold production narrative and strange George Orwell like depiction of the future. However, Parrad is not the only future-oriented producer on the release. The 1Ø1 Compilation features Phazz, IAMNOBODI, Freddie Joachim, Elaquent, and more, all of which are guided by the original inspiration of On and On Records: jazz, hip hop, funk, and beats.
