Toronto's Will Diebel, better known as Deebs, wowed us all with last year's Songs4UByMe EP, a five-track collection of dark, brooding instrumental hip-hop, like Clams Casino with more of a sense of urgency. However, Deebs is actually a patient producer, especially with original tracks, so while there's probably an album on the way from him, he'll be sure to painstakingly perfect every last detail before we see it. Fortunately, he keeps us satiated with a steady stream of remixes, in which he takes pop or R&B tracks and morphs them into his own creations.
This time around he takes on the off-kilter pop of Huntar's "Love I Know," serving it up with extra muscle and an added bounce in its step. The "don't you worry 'bout me" chorus is so well suited to the new production that one wonders if we might see Deebs working with vocalists directly in the future.
