Priest are anything but "Broken" [Premiere]

Finding success with the release of their debut EP Samurai last year, Florida-based glistening pop duo Priest look to release a self-titled full length on May 5th via the Swedish label Emotion. Formerly known as X priest X, Madeline Priest and David Kazyk came together in 2013 and have since honed in on a sound that resembles some of the forward minded moments of 80's music. Leading with hushed vocals and sustained synth soundscapes, Priest's newest offering is entitled "Broken".

"Broken" highlights a slight mood change for Priest, in the way Madeline's vocals are carefully laid over top of the weightless background. A demanding sustained vocal chorus not only acts as the peak in "Broken", but also allows us to dig deeper into Madeline's evolving style. As a whole, "Broken" may provide the most emotional approach from Priest that we have heard, meaning that it could be just the tip of the iceberg of what is yet to come on their debut full length.
