Last month, Oliver Heldens surprised the dance community with a vocal edit of a Dr. Kucho! & Gregor Salto’s classic. The track, “Can’t Stop Playing (Makes Me High) (Oliver Heldens Vocal Edit)” is poised to be the next future house hit for Ministry of Sound, and next month, the venerated label is putting out the official release with some remixes from the likes of Joker, Riddim Commission, Cyantific, and Danny Howard.
Right from the first heavily reverbed synth, it’s clear the British duo Riddim Commission took the track to a darker place with their remix. A crisp percussion and reverbed low end provide the perfect backdrop for the pitched down and distorted vocals, which are used more like another instrument than actual vocals. The combination is quite remarkable.
