A few months back we introduced you to Miami's ES.P. A DJ at one of Miami's biggest clubs, his latest release shows us how his residency at E11even has shaped his understanding of music that makes people move. While the name “Turning Up” might invoke this being a track that is a little outdated by an overused popular phrase, it is quite the opposite: the title refers to a sampled vocal that refers to “turning up” in the literal sense. A nu disco track with emphatic bass spreading lines, ES.P’s work here really honors the era of music that it references: when “turning up” meant increasing the volume.
