About a month back, Stuart Howard announced Lustmore, his second album for Brainfeeder under the name Lapalux. He also shared "Closure," Lustmore's lead track, an R&B-leaning slow-burner. Now you can hear another cut, "Don't Mean a Thing" ahead of the album's April 7th release.
"Don't Mean a Thing" opens with a bit of tension, evident in the urgency of the production and a subtle anxiety in the vocal. By the second half it relaxes into a steady groove of guitar notes, shuffling beats and hazy atmospherics. Stress relief almost seems to be this song's point, like Howard wrote it after finally escaping hellish rush hour traffic. Next time you find yourself in such a situation, Lapalux has got your back. You can download "Closure" and "Don't Mean a Thing" now by pre-ordering Lustmore here.
