NYC based artist Janelle Kroll has the elements that create a successful female artist and effervescent charm that oozes out of every note that she sings, think shades of Minnie Riperton if she dealt in soft rock and electro cool. Ironically, her latest track "Sunny Days," was released during the dead of winter and you'd think that the light-hearted soul in her voice is keeping you under blue skies.
But if you think that you'd be wrong, because when you listen carefully there is so much more going on than just a sunny day. Because Kroll is really singing to someone who keeps walking on hers and that is where the throaty rasp in her voice comes in. Backed up by a steady beat and slow, funky guitar licks "Sunny Days" is proof positive that the best music contains both sun and clouds.
