Ikon, the Private Stock producer who gifted us with the PIVOT Gang assisted "Tap Water," is back with the latest single off his upcoming debut project Private Stock "Bon Voyage". Unlike the sodden, jazz sampling that encapsulates "Tap Water," "Bon Voyage" features electro-pop production that differs greatly from the Chicago producer's past singles, which have been rooted, for the most part, in traditional hip-hop production. This new production styling by IKON offers the listener a far larger degree of insight into his capabilities as a producer as well as the diversity of his production pallet. Chicago pop-rap trio ASA and the Windy City vocalist SKYLR accentuate the lively production with their euphoric phonic offerings on the hook and bridge.
Ultimately, "Bon Voyage" is a very interesting track when listened to in the context of the Chicago underground music scene because the synth-pop genre sound, which IKON explores on "Bon Voyage," is relatively non-existent in the sonic airwaves drill dominated airwaves that encompass the city . That said, stream one of the most risqué cuts off IKON's forthcoming Private Stock below.
