Typically at EARMILK we strive to give you the freshest, best and most quality genre pushing music. However sometimes there are songs that slip under our radar but are so good that they need to be brought to the masses. Just recently we were turned onto a track from the Brooklyn based indie band Great Caesar that was poetic and so intricately constructed that it had to be shared. Their lead single “Don’t Ask Me Why” is a beautifully woven story about two lovers Marie and Gill and the events that unfold before them. Overwhelming notes of wanderlust brood through the chorus and the bridge as gang vocals resound our generations battle cry “We’ve got some dreaming before we die. Don’t ask us why. Don't ask us why.”

Every instrument is meticulously written into the song proclaiming it’s own distinct personality without proving to be overpowering. Watch the beautifully shot video and listen to the song below. If you are in NYC be sure to check them out at the Mercury Lounge tonight, Feb. 10th. They will be an official band at SXSW so be sure to catch them when they set the stage ablaze.
