Late last year, Grammy-nominated dance music veteran Paul van Dyk teamed up with two trance constants: with highlighted emotion from steadfast vocalist Sue McLaren, and production alongside Egyptian trance kings Aly & Fila, "Guardian" is a classically uplifting track. Combining the high-BPM notoriously used by Aly & Fila with van Dyk's powerful sound that has helped to shape the modern day version of the genre, it poses to quickly become a classic.
Today, we've got a first listen of two tracks off of the "Guardian" remix EP due out via Ultra Records next week. The first has been previewed online, with techy hard electro provided by Jordan Suckley. But the "Sunrise" and "Sunset" remixes of the track are far from that dark, rabbit hole of existence, and fit those transitional, laid back moments with calming melodic progressive. The tone of each is slightly different, each emulating a voice that is heard in places like the beaches of Ibiza. Check out both tracks below ahead of Paul van Dyk's performance in a secret warehouse in Brooklyn, location TBA on February 15th. There, he'll play a special 6-hour long set.
