Stonefox us gives a Melbourne taste of summer with "This City"

California has been well known for turning out laid back summer-surf music for years but Australia and New Zealand seem to be making more and more of a contribution to the style in recent years. With Lorde making an impressive splash into the music scene a couple years ago, New Zealand's BROODS also quickly established their own fan base with their mix of fresh lively vocals, a great beat and a mellow fun sound. In a similar fashion Stonefox seems to be in the midst of their coming out party with the release of "This City".

Melbourne’s Stonefox is definitely a band to watch for. With vocals that are reminiscent of Lorde; the band has a very chill easy going sound. Where Lorde is a one woman show, Stonefox offer up a band-centric approach. "This City" has such an upbeat, well layered sound that it creates a false sense of Spring and the long awaited Summer for us in the Northeast.
