London artist Natalie McCool's lyrics in "Pins" read like poetry

If in some weird fantasy Feist and Imogen Heap had a love child and CoCo Rosie were the godparents, that child would be London based singer/songwriter Natalie McCool. The young rising talent has a unique sound that blends electropop with an edgy alt-rock sensibility. Natalie has been making waves across the pond receiving critical acclaim from BBC Radio 2 & 6 personalities among many others – and for good reasons. In her latest single “Pins” her lyrics read like pure poetry flowing over a distorted soundscape that is compelling and convicting, eliciting emotions most artists struggle to achieve but she does with such ease. In this introspective piece she focuses on a past relationship that was toxic and damaging and still pricking like pins under the surface of her skin. Natalie is a refreshing light in a room of saturated pop songs overflowing with childish lyrics. Take a listen to the track below and see for yourself if you can feel the pins.
