You may or may not have heard but there was a game this weekend but the most talked about moment wasn’t the game but some lady who sang during the game. Actually that’s a lie. People just cared about some gnarly sharks that obviously came to party. Much like those sharks, LA based singer/songwriter Chelsea Lankes sings about how she is “Down For Whatever” in her latest release. Not to be confused with the Bud Light slogan #UpForWhatever, this song is a beautiful airy late night anthem reminiscent of Adrian Lux’s “Teenage Crime.” Chelsea sings about life’s struggles and pains how she just brushes them off and makes the most out of any situation. Oakland based electro-pop duo takes the original, speeds it up and adds their own electro-tinged spin to the track to tie it all out with a neon dreampop feel. Muted 808s and tight hi-hat runs spin with chaos and coordination under a synth heavy beat that will have you ready and down for whatever. For those in the NYC area be sure to catch Chelsea when she performs at Brooklyn Bowl’s School Night alongside The Peach Kings.
