Darku J has been holding down the dance music scene in Oklahoma for upwards of five years. Holding down the Tulsa and Oklahoma City party scenes with such a loyal following paid off when he recently won the WEMC EDM competition at #1. His winnings awarded him a 2 year contract with TSG Management along with other helpful goodies. Not only is this a well deserved winning, but something that has been a long time coming. Darku, age 24, began his journey as a DJ at the age of 13 when he obtained his first turntable. There are few DJs these days that can claim over 10 years experience while having roots at such a young age. Knowing that DJing alone doesn't always keep a musician up with the times, he's become heavily involved with Robot Dancer records and releasing his own originals and remixes for over 2 years.
As a thanks for winning the WEMC EDM competition, he released a brand new club thumper titled "Thuggin" for free. The track is a tightly woven trap tune with jersey club rhythms sewed right in. The overall sound nods to festival trap producers like RL Grime, Flosstradamus, and Baauer while the synth lead melodies maintain a strong west coast, old school hip hop direction.
