Mike Skinner flips Murkage's "Can I Live", delivers brand new visuals

When you think of UK rap, in fact UK music in general, there is always one name that'll crop up EVERY single time; Mike Skinner. The London born wordsmith, who came via way of Birmingham, has always been revered as one of the UK's most significant figures when it comes to music, and the multi-instrumentalist has indeed released some of the most important records to ever come out of Great Britain, as part of the legendary outfit The Streets.

When The Streets split in 2011, Skinner invested more time into other elements of music that he loved. Already a keen keyboard and guitar player, he spent his days directing visuals and behind the boards on a number of projects including The D.O.T. Having become good friends with fellow UK powerhouses Murkage in recent times, Mike has delivered a brand new remix and video for their track "Can I Live", one of the most popular tracks from their debut album Of Mystics & Misfits. The remix strips the original down to it's bare bones, adding in some trap-like drums, chopped vocal samples and minimal instruments, focusing more on the lyrics that Dave and Gaika have penned, including a sombre finale from Dave which serves to round the whole video off. The visuals themselves see the two rap lords don their slickest clothes and head to the club, surrounded by people partying whilst the pair mob out together, all of this directed by Skinner himself

You can peep the video for Mike Skinner's "Can I Live" remix below, and you can grab the remix for FREE for a limited time! Also, be sure to check out Murkage's album Of Mystics & Misfits, which I reviewed last year!
