Mark Johns gets it. She understands that true success relies on the foundation with which it is built. She is, amongst a tight crew of several others, a crucial member of an internet-based music collective known as Moving Castle. You may recognize her from our last post on one of her tunes with Y//2//K. Her voice is magic, her friends are cool, and everything she's doing is incredibly dope. No joke, even her latest tune with Sable blows my mind.
Few can make a song quite like Jay Z and Kanye. However, Johns and Sable did a fantastic job recreating and revising the original of "Niggas In Paris". Interestingly enough, Johns sent me the rough version of this tune months ago. Needless to say, even at its roughest it sounded like pure gold. Spacey and intricate, mellow yet volcanic. If you heard "In Paris" in the club, you'd probably be delightfully confused yet ready and willing to hear more. Hopefully 2015 will grant you that hypothetical wish.
