Shinya Mizoguchi, a.k.a. starRo, is a versatile producer from Yokohama, Japan. Though his real home is on the opposite side of the Pacific Ocean, he has quickly made a name for himself in his second home Los Angeles. Budding LA record label Soulection made him part of their roster right quick, further solidifying his presence and sounds.
Naturally, starRo is multi-cultured, which reflects his producing style that takes influences from various genres such as hip-hop, jazz, ambient, and house. It's always a wonder where he will take his work next. Lately, there hasn't been much original work coming from him with the exception of a handful of remixes here and there. But that's all about to change as he is gearing up for an EP release appropriately called Emotion which is due to drop February 10.
Here at EARMILK, you'll get that much wanted leg-up on your friends with the sneak peak track called "It's Over" featuring the buttery vocals of Jarell Perry. His singing serenades your ear follicles while starRo's majestic beats caresses your soul with polished textures and layers. We couldn't help but feel a slight 90s influence in this particular track, which we completely dig because who doesn't like nostalgic things?
