It's mid-December, and for most of us, that means settling down for another freezing cold winter. Glorious days of park drinking and balmy nights of pool hopping seem like distant memories at this point. Luckily, today we can give you some musical respite: Canadian three-piece Ain't No Love's latest offering, "Summa (prod. Birthday Boy)", is an infectious slice of electro hip-hop that'll have you warmed up in no time.
Produced by fellow Torontonian Birthday Boy, the song is the second off Ain't No Love's forthcoming EP, which will be released via Warner Music Canada in February 2015. Bouncy chords, the soulful vocals of Saidah Conrad, and the unique rap stylings of Beanz and 1990 fuse together on a release which is as genre defying as the group's previous work. Of "Summa", Birthday Boy says, "The idea was to blend House and R&B, do it a bit up-tempo, and then switch to half-time for the verses. I like the feel of the record, it's got a bit of a 90's vibe".
We've watched Ain't No Love progress for several years now, and are happy to premiere this latest track. Give "Summa (prod. Birthday Boy)" a listen on Soundcloud, and check out the artists on social media below.
