Mura Masa has already been covered more than a couple times for us at this site, but today we've got something a little special from the 18 year old producer, who's been known to have caught the eyes of labels like Soulection. This time we've snagged an exclusive remix from the young artist of The Avener's upcoming single for Island Records. The newly signed French DJ will be releasing his EP of the same name, come February 15th of next year, along with various remixes, one of which will be the Mura Masa piece.
The original version is actually a bit of a rework itself, as it is a cover of Phoebe Killdeer and The Short Straws. On the other hand, the remix from Mura Masa brings a mesh of dance with slight hints of the future scene, and what results is an elegant and beautiful track. With enough energy that you won't need that extra cup of coffee, Mura Masa and The Avener need to think about working together on a collaborative level because this is the perfect way to kick off our week.
