Clean Bandit continue their domination of the dance-pop landscape with "Stronger," a new single from the deluxe version of their debut album New Eyes (out now on Warner Music UK). Also included in the package is their newest collaboration with Jess Glynne, "Real Love" (which has gotten remix treatment from Henry Krinkle and the Chainsmokers), and their excellent cover of Robin S.'s "Show Me Love." "Stronger" has been a standout song and fan favorite during Clean Bandit's raucous live sets and concertgoers will surely be pleased to see a recorded version of the track available on SoundCloud, iTunes and Spotify.
The track starts out in typical Clean Bandit fashion, with fun, light synths and hints of deep bass before an uncredited vocalist (likely Elisabeth Troy and/or Florence Rawling, the band's touring singers) comes in, singing, "People tell me to be cautious, people tell me not to lose my self control, people tell me to be flawless, people tell me not to let myself evolve," before diving into the bridge. The vocalists belt out into the feel-good chorus about breaking free from the expectation of others before a deep vocal sample leads to the second verse.
The rest of the song follows a typical pop structure, a structure that Clean Bandit has perfected with the help of co-writers like Disclosure and Sam Smith collaborator Jimmy Napes. We hope they keep the feel-good pop confections coming as they begin working on their second studio album.
