Celebrate life and come "Alive" with Jinx's uplifting single [Video]

Remember that really annoying but catchy and trendy song “Thrift Shop” by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis that everyone was singing last year? Remember that gnarly fur coat Macklemore was wearing in the video? Well the mastermind behind that music video as well as “Same Love” and “Can’t Hold Us,” Jon Jon Augustavo, has another phenomenal indie-rap artist to add to his repertoire. Rising star Jinx is a refreshing new face in a hip-hop game over-saturated by bae on fleek standing in a no flex zone with Molly Cyrus. Jinx’s latest single “Alive” is an uplifting anthemic tune that is similar to persona Kendrick’s “i” embodies. The song is simple but guaranteed to get stuck in your head. It’s the kind of song that you would see in a Fox Searchlight Indie film and for good reason, it is good.

The video is bright and vibrant and seems to pull inspiration from the Holi festival of colors. Two of our subjects are living their mundane lives when suddenly they are brought to life with a blast of color. After a good color blasting they sprint down a hall to a party with sparklers. They run into a dude doing the robot, because every party needs someone doing the robot. And then they all jump in the pool and celebrate being “Alive!” Check out the video and keep Jinx on your radar, he has some promising looks for him in the future.
