London-based singer-songwriter-producer-prodigy MNEK just premiered the massive dance track, "The Rhythm," on Annie Mac's BBC Radio 1 show. MNEK has incorporated electronic elements into most of his songs (not to mention "Ready For Your Love," his banging collaboration with Gorgon City), but "The Rhythm" takes him deeper and dancier than he's ever been. His past efforts have showcased vocal talent over production, but on "The Rhythm" he shows he can produce club-moving dance music just as well as any other big name producer.
Sinister synths open the track, before MNEK jumps in, singing, "If I let the rhythm get to me, then I don't know what I'll be. I think I just might lose my mind." The beat and drama only climb from there as MNEK sings over a number of drum machines before a huge build. Then, deep beats take over. Female vocal samples moan incoherently over the beat before MNEK gets back in the game. The delirious beat continues through the second verse before picking up even more steam in the second chorus. Things slow down, but only momentarily before MNEK's vocals and the beat explode in an epic grand finale. Check it out for yourself below.
